Prof. Dr. Oliver S. Lazar, born in 1974 in Essen, Germany, initially began studying human medicine at the University of Essen in 1995, where he passed his first state examination in 1999. He subsequently studied computer science at the Technical University of Dortmund, completing his degree in 2005 as a graduate computer scientist (Diplom-Informatiker). In 2008, he earned his doctorate in the natural sciences of medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Duisburg-Essen. Until 2011, he gained extensive experience in applied research as a scientist and project leader at the Fraunhofer Institute for Microelectronic Circuits and Systems (IMS) in Duisburg, working on various research projects funded by the BMBF (German Federal Ministry of Education and Research). Since 2012, he has been a Professor of Computer Science at Germany's largest private university, based in Düsseldorf.
